Colville National Forest
Located in the Northeast corner of Washington, this "forgotten
corner" is home to a rich variety of wildlife: bighorn sheep, moose, wolf, lemming, whitetail deer, elk,
mule deer, wild turkey, woodland caribou, cougar, the list goes on. The rounded, forested mountains are
also home to exquisite local flowers, including the blue Camas flower the area is known for. Local streams
team with cutthroat, rainbow and brook trout. More than a million visitors come from across the country
every year to enjoy the natural beauty of this unforgettable wilderness. American Land & Leisure
currently runs facilities in three ranger districts within the Colville National Forest: the Sullivan Lake,
Three Rivers, and Newport Ranger Districts. |

American Land & Leisure runs 5 facilities in the Sullivan
Lake Ranger District and 4 facilities in the Three Rivers Ranger District. The Sullivan Lake area manager
supervises our staff in both these areas. For information on the Newport Ranger District campgrounds,

The following facilities are located in the Sullivan Lake Ranger District:
The area managers for the region live and work at East Sullivan Lake Campground. Located 5 miles
east of Metaline Falls, along the north shore of Sullivan Lake, this unusual campground is adjacent to a
small grassy airstrip. Campers fly, boat, or drive in to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Hiking, boating,
swimming, fishing, picnicking and piloting small aircraft are common recreational activities. The campground
has 25 single sites, 13 double sites and 1 group site. Two couples live and work here with the area managers.
One cares for part of East Sullivan, the other for trash pickup and local day use areas. A gray water drain,
water and electric hookups are available. Black water is disposed of using a provided blue boy into nearby
vault toilets. Hours are 15 hours per week per
couple during the regular season and up to 40 hours per week per couple during the peak season. The
campground is open from May through September. |

West Sullivan Lake Campground is located about 1/4 mile
from East Sullivan along the North Shore of Sullivan Lake. This half of Sullivan Lake campground has 10
single sites. The hosts at West Sullivan also care for a busy local day use area and Mill Pond Campground.
Mill Pond has 10 campsites and is located 2 miles away. A gray water drain, water and electric hookups
are available. Black water is disposed of using a provided blue boy into nearby vault toilets. Hours
are 20 hours per week per couple during the regular season and 30 hours per week per couple during the peak
season. The campground is open from May through September. |

Noisy Creek Campground is located about 14 miles from
Ione at an elevation of 2600 feet. Situated along the south shore of Sullivan Lake, this campground has 19
campsites and a boat launch. The hosts for this site also care for a day use area 1/4 mile from the
campground. Campers come out to fish, swim, hike and boat. A gray water drain, water and electric hookups
are available. Black water is disposed of using a provided blue boy into nearby vault toilets.
Hours are 25 hours per week per couple during the regular season, and 30 hours per week per couple during
the peak season. The campground is open from May to September. |

Edgewater Campground is located two miles from Ione
along the banks of the Pend Oreille River. This recently renovated park includes a picnic area, boat
ramp, and 21 single sites. Campers come out to fish for trout and bass in the river, boat, relax and enjoy
the beautiful scenery. Water and electric hookups are available. Hours are 10 hours per week per couple
during the regular season, and 20 hours per week per couple during the busy season. The campground is open
from May through September. |
The following facilities are located in the Three
Rivers Ranger District:
Gillette Campground is located about 13 miles from Ione on Lake Gillette at an altitude of 3900
feet. Set amidst a pine, fir, and larch forest, this campground has 29 single sites. The camp hosts living
at Lake Gillette also care for two small local campgrounds. Lake Thomas Campground has 16 single
sites and is located on Lake Thomas, about 1 mile from Gillette Campground. Lake Leo Campground is
located on Lake Leo about 7 miles from Gillette and has 8 single campsites. Campers come out to these
facilities to fish for trout and swim in the lakes. Good hiking trails are nearby, and the local wildlife
is varied. The host site has no hookups. Water is available nearby. Both gray and black water are dumped
using a provided blue boy or at the Gillette Campground dump station, ¼ mile away. Hours are 25 hours per
week per couple during the regular season and 40 hours per week per couple during the peak season. If no
host is hired for Lake Gillette Campground, the host from Gillette Campground also cares for it. If this is
the case, hours become 50 hours per week per couple during the regular season and 80 hours per week per
couple during the peak season. These campgrounds are open from May until September.

Lake Gillette Campground
is located approximately 13 miles from Ione on Lake Gillette. Campers come out to fish and swim in the lake.
The campground has 8 single and 6 double campsites, and a busy boat ramp and day use area. Full hookups and
phone service are available. Hours are 20 hours per week per couple during the regular season and 40 hours
per week per couple during the peak season. |
