Idaho Panhandle - Newport

The Newport area is part of the Colville National Forest, but is grouped within our Idaho Panhandle region. Located in the east-central part of the Columbia Plateau between the Cascade and Bitteroot Mountains, the Idaho Panhandle is one of the most spectacular scenic areas in the country. Deep blue lakes, swift raging rivers, quiet streams and high rugged mountains invite hikers, river rafters, canoeists, and nature enthusiasts of all kinds.
