PG&E - Potter Valley

The Potter Valley Area is part of the Lake Pillsbury Recreation Area, located in Northwestern California, about 40 miles northeast of Ukiah. Lake Pillsbury provides a wide range of recreation activities, such as boating, fishing, hiking, and horseback riding. Nearby Hull Mountain provides a spectacular view, and a great location for hang gliders to launch from. The local wildlife is diverse, including deer, antelope, and hundreds of species of birds and water fowl. Fisherman will find trout, salmon, and steelhead in nearby Eel River and its tributaries.

American Land & Leisure runs six different facilities at Potter Valley.

Fuller Grove Campground is located on the western shore of Lake Pillsbury, about 20 miles from Potter Valley. The campground has a beautiful view, a boat launch, 24 camp units and 6 double camp units. Campers come here to fish, swim, boat, hike, and enjoy the scenery and wildlife.  Hours are 30 hours per week per couple during the regular season, and 35 hours per week during the peak season. Water and sewer hookups are provided, and there's plenty of sun for solar panels.

Trout Creek Campground is located about 10 miles west of Lake Pillsbury on the Eel River.  The campground is 10 miles from Potter Valley.  It's a beautiful site at an elevation is 1500 feet. There are 13 camp sites, 1 double campsite, and 3 walk-in sites. Water and sewer hookups are provided, and while there is generally enough sun for solar panels, a generator is recommended. The position requires 25 hours a week of work.

The area managers for Potter Valley are located at Pogie Point Campground, about 21 miles from Potter Valley at an elevation of 1500 feet.  Set on the northwestern corner of Lake Pillsbury the campground has 45 camp sites.  Campers come here to fish for bass, swim, boat and hike.  There's a protected elk herd just outside the campground.  Water, sewer and propane hookups are provided.  The hosts at this campground also care for Navy Campground, about 1 1/2 miles away.  Navy is located about 23 miles from Potter Valley at 1800 feet of elevation. Set along the northern shore of Lake Pillsbury, the campground has 20 camp sites.  Campers come here to swim, fish, boat, and hike.

Sunset Point Campground is located about 24 miles from Potter Valley at an elevation of 1500 feet.  Set on the northeastern shore of Lake Pillsbury, it has a boat launch and 54 camp sites. Campers come here to watch the beautiful sunsets, launch their boats from the boat ramp, and play on the beach areas adjacent to the campground.  Water, sewer, and propane hookups are provided, and there is enough sun for solar panels. The job takes 40 hours a week.
