Carson Pass Area
PG&E manages campgrounds on or near reservoirs used for hydro-electric production. Campgrounds are open to the public for a fee. American Land & Leisure operates these campgrounds under a special use permit. The Blue Lakes area is 12 miles off of Highway 88 near Carson Pass and Kirkwood Ski Resort.
Lower Blue Lake
At 8100 feet elevation, Lower Blue Lake Campground has 17 family sites on the south shore of Lower Blue Lake. Small boats are allowed on the lake and fishing and swimming are popular activities.
Middle Creek
Middle Creek Campground is on the creek between Upper and Lower Blue lakes. It has 5 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs. There are 35 campsites in the expansion area across the road. Campers come here to enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, picnicking and hiking.
Upper Blue Lake Dam site
10 family campsites are available in the Upper Blue Lake Dam Site. 25 sites are available for family camping.
Upper Blue Lake
Upper Blue Lake Campground has 32 family sites on the north shore of Upper Blue Lake. Small boats are allowed on the lake. Hiking, fishing and swimming are popular activities in this high mountain campground.
