Green Ridge Campground on Shadow Mtn Reservoir, near Grand Lake, CO

Green Ridge Campground

Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest \ Sulphur Ranger District

Shadow Mountain Reservoir is a high elevation lake like the nearby Lake Granby; siting at 8300' elevation.  About 75 campsites are mostly single family units for up to 8 people but include 1 double and 1 triple capacity site in Green Ridge Campground.  Although 3,000 new seedlings were planted since 2008 there is still little shade due to pine beetle damage.  Campsites accommodate tents and RV's with no electrical hookups.  The campground has vault toilets, drinking water, garbage dumpsters, a dump station and a boat ramp.  The campground is generally open from mid-May through the end of September.  Some sites may remain open through late-October if weather permits.

Campers enjoy hiking and horseback riding on nearby trails that access the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Enjoy fishing for kokanee salmon and a variety of trout including rainbow, brown, mackinaw and cutthroat.   A dock for fishing on Shadow Mountain Reservoir is available within the campground. The Colorado River can also be accessed from the campground.
