Help children connect with nature

Have you ever noticed that children are attracted to other children's voices?

They are also attracted to baby animals.  We watched, in awe, as our 2 year old granddaughter interacted with this baby bird who was calling it's mom from our campsite.

She made noises at the chick as if talking to it.  We gently reminded her not to touch and to be still.  We explained that the baby is calling its mom.

Mallard chicks off on their own. I didn't see them reunite with their parents but you hear mom quack at the end.
