Rhody Days - Oregon Coast - May 16 - 18, 2014
/What's Rhody Days without a campout?
North of Florence, Oregon, are 2 beautiful Forest Service campgrounds. Sutton Campground is about 5 miles north of the Hwy 126 and 101 intersection. Alder Dune Campground is just one more mile north.
Both are set in a coastal forest, including wild rhododendrons, and hiking trails through sand dunes. 1/2 price camping is available with a handicap Access pass or Senior pass from your local Ranger District office. Note: Military and Annual passes do not apply to camping fees.
Alder Dune has campsites around 2 lakes which are stocked with rainbow trout between January and June. There are vault toilets and drinking water available throughout the campground.
Sutton Campground has campsites along Sutton Creek and Darlingtonia Trail. Some sites have 30amp electrical hookups. Flush restrooms and drinking water are available throughout the campground. There are 3 group campsites for large groups.
Firewood is sold by the on-site hosts. Both campgrounds have first-come-first-served campsites as well as sites that may be reserved at least 4 days in advance of your arrival.
