Campfire Safety Tips

Unusually hot and dry weather conditions, especially in the western states this season, require extra caution for campfires.  For current fire warnings and fire-related weather watches use NOAA's interactive map here:  NOAA National Weather Service Fire Weather

Under moderate fire-danger conditions campfires may be banned for dispersed camping but allowed in developed campgrounds.  Under high fire-danger conditions even campgrounds may have restrictions against campfires and open flames.  Please check for instructive signs in the campground or with your Campground Manager before you start your campfire.
