Emergency Closure Due to Wildfires

The following Coeur d'Alene River campgrounds are closed until the fire danger is cleared:  Big Hank, Berlin Flats, Devil's Elbow and Kit Price.  If they re-open for the season it will be for first-come-first-served camping.  Follow the link to find campgrounds still open in the area:  Coeur d'Alene River Ranger District

The Idaho Panhandle National Forest issued the following closure to begin on August 30, 2015:

"Due to the increasing number of wildfires in the area and concern for public safety, a temporary emergency wildfire closure has been issued for all public lands north of I-90, south of Forest Road 332, east of Highway 95 and west of the Idaho/Montana border. This emergency closure includes all National Forest System lands, Bureau of Land Management lands, and state endowment forest lands within the described boundaries. The emergency closure will start at 12:01 am, on Sunday August 30, 2015 in order to allow time for members of the public to remove any trailers, hunting equipment or other property currently left on federal lands within the new closure area.  (Closure Map)
