Nestled in scenic Bear Canyon is Ponderosa Campground, just off the Nebo Loop Scenic Byway, at an elevation of 6,200 feet; 10 miles from Nephi, UT.

Ponderosa is generally open from mid-May through the Labor Day weekend.  There is a mix of first-come-first-served and reservable sites.  Go online to Recreation.gov just before Christmas to reserve your campsite for Memorial Weekend.  Campsites have tables and fire rings and some have grills. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided.  Roads and parking spurs are paved.

Campers enjoy hiking, biking and horseback riding, at nearby Bear Canyon Trail.  Salt Creek has rainbow trout and runs along the edge of the campground.
