The campground remains lush with old-growth pines and a rich understory. 

45 campsites have picnic tables and fire rings.  The campground provides vault toilet restroom and garbage collection.  Unless there is a drought situation there is also piped drinking water provided throughout the campground.  Cherry Valley Campground is better suited for tent campers or small motorhomes.  Some sites may be reserved prior to your arrival.  Follow the link to check forest alerts, directions, rates and availability:  Recreation.gov \ Cherry Valley Campground

Old Grade Campground

HURON-MANISTEE NATIONAL FOREST / BALDWIN-WHITE CLOUD RANGER DISTRICT

Old Grade Campground is a tiny little campground right on the Little Manistee River, near Peacock, MI.  20 family campsites, for up to 8 people each, are available on a first-come-first-served basis.  The campground is generally open from late April through mid-September.

Campsites are shaded by a mix of hemlock and birch trees.   A short interpretive hiking trail takes you over foot bridges from the campground through the forest.  Nearby wetlands and fields provide great opportunities for viewing wildlife.  Trout fishing is very popular on this shallow stretch of the Little Manistee River although canoeing is not recommended.
