Fashoda on Union Valley Reservoir, California - Virtual Tour

Fashoda Campground

Eldorado National Forest \ Pacific Ranger District

Fashoda Campground has 30 walk-to tent sites on Union Valley Reservoir just 15 miles from Riverton, California.  An access road and loading zones are provided for loading and unloading camping equipment.  Please be courteous not to block traffic.  Campers park in a large parking lot and walk to their campsite.  The campground map below indicates accessibility level of each campsite.

Campers enjoy boating, fishing, biking and hiking in this stunning area.  Sailboats and waterskis are common on the lake.  Fish for rainbow, brown and mackinaw trout and Kokanee salmon.  The Union Valley Bike Trail stretches almost 6 miles with an easy climb of 300 feet. The trail connects campgrounds on the east side of the lake, starting from Wench Creek on down to Jones Fork Campground.

Fashoda is generally open from the 3rd week in May through Labor Day for reservations.  It may remain open to first-come-first-served campers later in the Fall depending on weather and fire danger.  The campground provides drinking water, showers, vault toilets, garbage disposal, picnic tables, fire rings, and nearby boat ramp.  Some RV sites are available near the boat ramp.  Reserve your tent site on Recreation.gov.
