Your bugs are ready!
/The crawdads are lookin' real good near Blackberry Campground, Central Oregon Coast.
This bug was trapped in the Alsea River yesterday. Where's your favorite crawdad hole?
If you've never caught crawdads for eating, here are a few tips:
- Use meat or bones for bait
- Gather the crawdads in a bucket covered with a damp cloth until ready to cook. Do not keep them in a bucket of water as they will die in the stagnant water
- Boil the water first, then toss them in. Some like to add shrimp boil seasonings.
- Point out, to the kids, that the high-pitched noise they hear is the crawdads screaming. This will leave more crawdads for you.
