Jordan Pines Group Campground, Big Cottonwood Canyon, Utah

Jordan Pines Group Campground

Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest \ Salt Lake Ranger District

Jordan Pines is a group, reservation-only, campground in Big Cottonwood Canyon.  A scrub oak meadow separates the campground from Big Cottonwood Creek and the highway.  5 large group sites provide overnight camping or group picnic areas.  There are vault restrooms, piped drinking water and large playing areas.  You may have to share your sand volleyball court with the wildlife but this is a beautiful place for your family reunion or summer office party.

Many hiking trails carve through this canyon, taking you to secret lakes and waterfalls through tall pines and quaking aspen.  Please be considerate of private land owners and do not trespass on their property.

The creek and canyon are part of a protected watershed for the Salt Lake City water supply.  No domesticated animals are allowed in Big Cottonwood Canyon without a special permit.  So you'll want to leave your pets at home for this camping trip as the fines are steep.  Wading and playing in the creek are also not permitted.    Check the fishing proclamation for fishing in Big Cottonwood Creek.
