This campground lies on the shores of the scenic Washington Lake at 10,000 feet in the high Uinta Mountains. Several hiking trails give access to the High Uinta Wilderness on foot, mountain bike or horseback including the popular Crystal Lake Trail and Haystack Lake Trail. Campers also enjoy canoeing, kayaking and fishing for rainbow, brook, cutthroat, tiger and albino trout on Washington Lake.
Washington Lake Campground is generally open from early July through early October and accommodates both tents and RV's. 45 campsites include 4 doubles and 5 group sites. 4 of the group sites can accommodate up to 50 people; the other is for up to 100 people. About half of the campsites are reservable through Labor Day and all are available to first-come-first-served campers until closing. Campsites have picnic tables and fire rings. Some sites have tent pads and grills. Vault toilet restrooms and garbage containers are provided in the campground. Drinking water is available at the water station on Spring Canyon Road before you get to the campground and firewood may be purchased from the campground managers..
