This sprawling recreation area provides campsites along a creek, access to several popular Appalachian hiking trails, a small lake for swimming and fishing and a group camping area for your family reunion.

Beartree is comfortable for tent and RV campers.  There are no electric hookups for RVs but drinking water and a water fill-up station are provided.  Each site has a grill and picnic table, and most are secluded from other sites.  The group picnic shelter accommodates 100 guests and most group sites fit 24 people.  The campground is generally open from May through October for reservations and may remain open until late November for first-come-first-served campers if the weather holds out.  Make reservations at least 4 days in advance of your arrival and up to 6 months ahead here: Recreation.gov / Beartree
