If you are looking for a beautiful place to get away from the crowds to enjoy nature for your next family reunion, this may be just what you are looking for! Capps Crossing is a group site that can accommodate 42 people. Individual sites are arranged in a single loop that forms the group site. A mix of sites accommodate tents or RVs. Site 11 connects to the main campground by a bridge built in 1932.
The campground is designed for groups, but the individual sites may be used on a first-come, first-served basis if unreserved. Individual sites are limited to one vehicle and six people.
Popular activities are fishing and swimming in the North Fork Cosumnes River. It is not uncommon to see people panning for gold. This area is known for its Mediterranean climate. At 5100 feet elevation the campground is shaded by tall cedar and fir trees.
