Salt Springs Campground, inside Salt Springs Recreation Area, is the largest campground on the Ocala National Forest and the only one with full hookups for RVs. It boasts over 100 RV sites and about 50 tent sites in a beautiful semi-tropical area. The day use area provides developed access to the crystal clear warm-water spring available for swimming and canoeing. Restrooms and showers are onsite and a boardwalk trail takes you on a nature hike through the Florida forest.
Although you'll feel like you are in a middle-of-nowhere paradise the nearby community of Salt Springs has all the conveniences: gas station, grocery store, several restaurants, bait and tackle shops, post office, laundromat, and National Forest visitor center. Orlando is only an hour and a half south of here.
Winter is the busiest time in the campground so make your reservations, up to 180 days in advance, on Recreation.gov \ Salt Springs
