Pickle Gulch is north of Central City and Black Hawk, Colorado, in the Rocky Mountains west of Denver. This reservations-only site has 5 group campsites to accommodate 15 - 30 people in tents. The picnic area can accommodate up to 150 people. There is a common parking area with trails to the separated areas. Wheelbarrows are provided to help you get supplies to the site. Vault toilets, drinking water and garbage service are shared among the groups. This is a tents-only campground. An amphitheater and playground are provided.
Pickle Gulch is generally open from mid-May to mid-October. Make your reservation up to 1 year in advance at www.recreation.gov / pickle gulch
Campsites and the picnic area are set in a lodgepole pine forest on Highway 119, also known as the Peak-to-Peak Highway. Many hiking and biking trails as well as numerous creeks, rivers and lakes are found nearby for exploring and fishing. Off-road enthusiasts will find many jeep roads in the vicinity.
