Woodson Bridge State Recreation Area

California State Parks

Woodson Bridge is in a wooded park nestled on the banks of the Sacramento River between Chico and Red Bluff, California.  This jungle like grove displays some of the last remaining riparian habitat to be found in California; home to the bald eagle and a summer nesting site for the Yellow-Billed Cuckoo.

Woodson Bridge has 35 campsites to include 10 tent-only sites and one 40-person group site.  Woodson Bridge generally provides camping and river access from April through October.  Follow the link for directions, rates, availability and make your reservations:  ReserveAmerica\Woodson Bridge

Campers enjoy birding and fishing on this beautiful stretch of the Sacramento River.  King Salmon and steelhead trout run up the river and striped bass, catfish and bluegill live here.  The campground provides drinking water, flush toilets, showers and a boat launch.
