Alexander Springs, Ocala, Florida

Alexander Springs Campground

Ocala National Forest / Lake George Ranger District

There are 67 shady campsites in Alexander Springs Campground.  Some are always for first-come-first-served campers and others are reservable for up to 6 months in advance of your arrival.  Sites will accommodate tents and RVs up to 35' in length.  Make your reservation at least 3 days in advance of your arrival at Recreation.gov.

There is a beautiful boardwalk trail around the springs and you can rent a canoe to explore the crystal, clear river. It’s amazing how much water comes out of the ground here at a constant 72 degrees!  It’s beautiful!   The consistent temperature draws manatees up into the Florida springs during the winter months.

The campground has potable water and accessible restrooms, showers and boardwalks.  The entrance gate is closed at dusk until 8am.  If you will be arriving late, call ahead to get a gate code.

Alexander Springs Recreation Area is located along CR 445 in the northeast corner of Lake County between Astor and Altoona.
