At the base of Mount Evans, along Highway 103, lies Echo Lake.  Echo lake Campground is at the intersection of Hwy 103 (Squaw Pass Road) and Hwy 5 (Mount Evans Road).  Although the campground is not on the lake, it is close enough to enjoy fishing and many gorgeous hikes.  Several trails leave directly from the campground.

Echo Lake Campground sits at an elevation of 10,600 feet.  Be prepared for cold weather even during the summer months.  Check out ProTrails.com for trails in the area.

The campground is generally open from early June through Labor Day.   This is a very busy campground with just 17 sites.  Reservations are recommended:  Recreation.gov\Echo Lake

7 campsites are for tents only.  There are no hookups for electricity, water or sewer but parking spurs are RV-friendly.  The campground provides vault toilets, drinking water and garbage dumpsters.  Each site has a picnic table, fire ring and tent pad.
