Blue Lakes are just 12 miles south of the Carson Pass Highway (Hwy 88) in Northern California. PG&E manages the hydroelectric power plants on the lakes, provides campgrounds and access to the lakes for fishing, swimming and boating with small boats.
The Upper Blue Lake Campground has 32 developed campsites on the north shore of Blue Lake. This high elevation campground, 8100', is open from early June to mid-October.
